About Me

Hey everybody!

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina filled our home with 6 feet of water leaving all manor of “mermaid poop” covering everything.  Our community of Pass Christian was decimated as well as much of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  There was so much devastation that it was difficult to see beauty.  As I worked with the United Methodist Church’s disaster recovery, led a congregation in their journey of recovery and the volunteers who came and worked to rebuild homes and hearts and lives, I began to search for beauty and God’s presence behind the lens of my camera.  At first, it was to record what had happened to us.  But, as time went on, I began to seek where God was working in the lives of so many on the coast.  My focus changed from simply recording our new truth to seeking signs of hope in the midst of so much loss.

Those seeds planted in 2005 have become an important part of my spiritual journey; my practice to seek God in the midst of my crazy and wonderful life.  You see, I am married to an amazing pastor, I am a mom of 6 (3 grown and 3 teenage daughters at home), grandmother, United Methodist pastor, avid gardener, runner, crafter, amateur photographer, and much more.  My life is chaotic, wonderful, and ever so busy.  Looking through the lens of my camera, usually in natural surroundings, seeking the presence of God, has become a way for me to be with God.  And later, I reflect upon those photographs seeking what God will reveal to me through them.

I hope you enjoy reading how God has been revealed to me in this journey as I seek to see the Light and Love of Christ in the midst of everyday moments, places, and times.

I’m here to share my spiritual journey through reflection and photography. It is one of the ways in which I seek truth and understanding from God and the Light and Love of Christ in the midst of everyday moments, places, and times.  I hope you find meaning as you join me on this journey.
